{"id":6778,"date":"2018-12-31T14:48:24","date_gmt":"2018-12-31T22:48:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/?p=6778"},"modified":"2018-12-31T14:48:25","modified_gmt":"2018-12-31T22:48:25","slug":"monday-morning-armed-robbery-suspect-arrested-two-other-armed-robberies-under-investigation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/monday-morning-armed-robbery-suspect-arrested-two-other-armed-robberies-under-investigation\/","title":{"rendered":"Monday Morning Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested \u2013 Two Other Armed Robberies Under Investigation"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Yakima police arrested a suspect\nin an armed robbery that occurred earlier today and are searching for suspects\nin two other armed robberies that happened over the weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At about 7:50 am today (Monday,\nDecember 31<sup>st<\/sup>), YPD officers responded to a report of an armed\nrobbery at the Conoco mini-market located at 1023 South 3<sup>rd<\/sup>\nAvenue.&nbsp; As officers were responding to\nthe call, information was provided to them that the man suspected of having\nrobbed the mini-mart had left the store with an undisclosed amount of cash and\nwas headed east on a bicycle.&nbsp; Officers,\nincluding a YPD K-9, located a man fitting the suspect&#8217;s description about four\nblocks from the mini-mart. The suspect attempted to flee from officers, but was\napprehended about a block from where he was first located.&nbsp; Officers recovered cash that the suspect had\nthrown over a nearby fence.&nbsp; The suspect,\n27-year-old Heraclio Amezcua-Diaz, has been booked into the Yakima County jail\nand charged with1st degree armed robbery. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At about 9:15 am on Saturday,\nDecember 29<sup>th<\/sup>, YPD officers responded to a report of an armed\nrobbery at the College Mart mini-market located at 1106 West Nob Hill\nBoulevard.&nbsp; A cashier at the store told\nofficers a man described as having light skin and dark hair and wearing a black\ncoat and black pants entered the mini-market, displayed a gun, and demanded\nmoney.&nbsp; The suspect was also wearing a\nwhite and red bandana on his face.&nbsp; The\nsuspect left the store with an undisclosed amount of cash and headed east on\nNob Hill on a bicycle.&nbsp; Police are\nactively searching for the suspect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Sunday, December 30<sup>th<\/sup>\nat about 5:40 pm, YPD officers responded to a report of an armed robbery at the\nSubway restaurant located at 1607 West Lincoln Avenue.&nbsp; The suspect was described as having dark skin\nand wearing a gray sweatshirt, black pants, and a dark beanie.&nbsp; The suspect was also wearing a gray bandana\non his face.&nbsp; The suspect displayed a gun\nand demanded money.&nbsp; The suspect left the\nstore with an undisclosed amount of cash.&nbsp;\nYPD deployed a K-9 to search for the suspect, but he was not\nlocated.&nbsp; Police are actively searching\nfor the suspect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anyone\nwith information regarding the armed robberies at the College Mart and the\nLincoln Avenue Subway is urged to contact the Yakima Police Department at (509)\n575-6200 or by calling 9-1-1.
