A 16-year-old male\ndied early Sunday morning after being shot in the 1800 block of Sliger Road. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Yakima police\nwere dispatched to the 1800 block of Sliger Road shortly before 2:00 am Sunday\nfollowing reports of shots fired. \nWitnesses said the victim was walking to a residence on Sliger road\nalong with two other juvenile males and two juvenile females. The group was allegedly confronted by two\narmed men. The armed men purportedly\npointed guns at the group that included the victim. A fight between the suspects and some members\nof the victim\u2019s group apparently broke out and the victim was shot several\ntimes. He was pronounced dead at the\nscene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the\nfight, one of the suspects, a 19-year-old male, was also shot and remains in\ncritical condition at a local hospital. \n <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Yakima police continue to\ninvestigate the incident. No arrests\nhave been made at this time. The name of\nthe 16-year-old victim is not being released pending notification of his\nfamily. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
