{"id":7258,"date":"2019-04-23T11:38:27","date_gmt":"2019-04-23T18:38:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/?p=7258"},"modified":"2019-04-23T11:38:28","modified_gmt":"2019-04-23T18:38:28","slug":"harman-center-begins-new-community-outreach-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/harman-center-begins-new-community-outreach-project\/","title":{"rendered":"Harman Center Begins New Community Outreach Project"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>A new community outreach project\nis underway at the City of Yakima&#8217;s Harman Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The veterans&#8217; toiletry and\nclothing drive began this month and will continue through June 30<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We will be accepting\ndonations of new\/gently used clothing for men, women, and children as well as\nnew toiletries,&#8221; said Recreation\nProgram Supervisor Leslie Richards. &#8220;The items will be provided to the Veteran&#8217;s\nCoalition.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Harman Center&#8217;s previous\ncommunity outreach project ended last month. It involved knitting hats and blankets for\npremature newborns and chemotherapy patients. &#8220;More than 400 hats and over 45 blankets were made during our\ncommunity knitting project,&#8221; Richards said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Harman Center\nis located at 101 North 65<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue.
