The meeting will be 5:00 pm to\n6:00 pm on Wednesday, May 29<sup>th<\/sup>, in the Garfield Elementary School\ngymnasium, 612 North 6<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue. It will be hosted by the City of\nYakima.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The meeting&#8217;s purpose will be to discuss the proposal by the City of\nYakima, Yakima School District and Garfield Elementary School to make Jerome\nAvenue one-way eastbound and Fairbanks Avenue one-way westbound between Custer\nAvenue and 6<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue. The goal would be to improve pedestrian\nsafety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There will be opportunity for\npublic comment. Those who are unable to attend the May 29<sup>th<\/sup> meeting\ncan submit their comments to the Yakima City Clerk\u2019s Office, Yakima City Hall,\n129 N. 2<sup>nd<\/sup> Street, or contact City of Yakima Design Engineer Randy Tabert at (509) 576-6579 or <a href=\"mailto:randy.tabert@yakimawa.gov\">randy.tabert@yakimawa.gov<\/a>\nfor more information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Starting in mid-June, the City of Yakima will construct pedestrian and\ntransportation improvements in the vicinity of Garfield Elementary School.
