So,\ntoo, is the opening of Franklin Pool, 2102 Tieton Drive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The roughly three-month-long 2019\nsummer season at the City of Yakima\u2019s outdoor pool will officially begin when\nFranklin Pool opens its doors for the first time this year on Friday, June 14<sup>th<\/sup>\nat 12:30 pm.&nbsp; The pool will be open seven\ndays a week from June 14<sup>th<\/sup> through August 25<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Franklin Pool will offer\nrecreational swim sessions Monday through Friday from 12:30 pm to 6:30 pm and\nfrom 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.&nbsp; On Saturdays\nand Sundays, one recreational swimming session will be offered from 12:30 pm to\n4:30 pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Admission for recreational swim\nsessions costs $2.00 for youth (under 18 years old), $4.00 for adults, and\n$2.25 for Honored Citizens (62 or older, a Yakima Transit Honored Citizen,\nState of Washington Handicapped Parking Placard holder, SSI Disabled, or active\nmember of the military).&nbsp; A family (two\nadults and up to four children) will pay just $13.00.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Special pricing is also available\nfor three-month passes and 10-visit punch cards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lap swimming and water walking\nsessions at Franklin Pool will be offered Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to\n12:00 pm and 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturdays and Sundays.&nbsp; The admission price for lap swimming and\nwater walking sessions is the same as it is for recreational swimming sessions.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Swimming lessons will also be\noffered at Franklin Pool this summer.&nbsp;\nClick on the following link and look at page 3 of the Yakima Parks &amp;\nRecreation 2019 Summer Program Guide to learn details about swimming lessons at\nFranklin Pool &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/yakimaparks.com\/assets\/2019-Summer-Program-Guide.pdf\">https:\/\/yakimaparks.com\/assets\/2019-Summer-Program-Guide.pdf<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To close out the 2019 summer\nseason, Franklin Pool will host its 13<sup>th<\/sup> Annual Paws in the Pool\nevent on Sunday, August 25<sup>th <\/sup>from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.&nbsp; Dogs and their owners will get to enjoy the\npool on the last day of the season just as they have for the past decade.&nbsp; Paws in the Pool admission is free for dogs,\nbut owners pay normal admission fees.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Visit <a href=\"https:\/\/yakimaparks.com\/aquatics\/\">https:\/\/yakimaparks.com\/aquatics\/<\/a> or call 575-6035 for more information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-file\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/6\/files\/sites\/6\/Franklin-Pool-Opens-June-14th-News-Release.pdf\">Franklin-Pool-Opens-June-14th-News-Release<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/6\/files\/sites\/6\/Franklin-Pool-Opens-June-14th-News-Release.pdf\" class=\"wp-block-file__button\" download>Download<\/a><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The end of the school year and rising temperatures are sure signs that summer is approaching in Yakima.
