{"id":7562,"date":"2019-07-11T13:34:43","date_gmt":"2019-07-11T20:34:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/?p=7562"},"modified":"2019-07-11T13:34:44","modified_gmt":"2019-07-11T20:34:44","slug":"city-manager-accepts-wsu-extension-director-job-in-jefferson-county","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/city-manager-accepts-wsu-extension-director-job-in-jefferson-county\/","title":{"rendered":"City Manager Accepts WSU Extension Director Job in Jefferson County"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Yakima City Manager Cliff Moore\nhas accepted the position of Washington State University (WSU) Extension\nDirector for Jefferson County (Port Townsend is the county seat of Jefferson\nCounty).&nbsp; Moore\u2019s last day on the job as\nYakima City Manager will be August 20<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Moore was hired by the Yakima\nCity Council to serve as Yakima City Manager in May 2016.&nbsp; He officially began his tenure in July 2016.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Moore worked for WSU earlier in\nhis career.&nbsp; Moore was the WSU Extension\nDirector in Thurston County, the same position he will now hold in Jefferson\nCounty, from 2004 to 2009.&nbsp; Prior to\nthat, he served as the Associate Director of WSU distance degree programs from\n1991 to 2004. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Moore became the Thurston County\nDepartment of Resource Stewardship Director in 2009, a position he held until\n2013 when he was hired as the Thurston County Manager.&nbsp; Moore served as Thurston County Manager for\nthree years before being hired by the City of Yakima.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt has been an honor to serve as\nYakima City Manager,\u201d Moore said.&nbsp; \u201cI have\nbeen so fortunate to work alongside an extraordinarily talented and dedicated\nteam of City employees.&nbsp; I\u2019m also\ngrateful for the support I\u2019ve received throughout my tenure from so many Yakima\ncommunity members,\u201d said Moore. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Yakima City Council will meet in the near future to determine how to fill the city manager job in the short term and what process will be used to hire a new city manager.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-file\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/6\/files\/sites\/6\/Yakima-City-Manager-Accepts-New-Job-News-Release.pdf\">Yakima-City-Manager-Accepts-New-Job-News-Release<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/6\/files\/sites\/6\/Yakima-City-Manager-Accepts-New-Job-News-Release.pdf\" class=\"wp-block-file__button\" download>Download<\/a><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yakima City Manager Cliff Moore has accepted the position of Washington State University (WSU) Extension Director for Jefferson County (Port Townsend is the county seat of Jefferson County).&nbsp; Moore\u2019s last day on the job as Yakima City Manager will be August 20th.
