{"id":7581,"date":"2019-07-17T13:37:10","date_gmt":"2019-07-17T20:37:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/?p=7581"},"modified":"2019-07-17T13:37:11","modified_gmt":"2019-07-17T20:37:11","slug":"yakima-city-council-july-16th-regular-meeting-review","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/yakima-city-council-july-16th-regular-meeting-review\/","title":{"rendered":"Yakima City Council July 16th Regular Meeting Review"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Yakima City Council held a regular meeting yesterday,\nTuesday, July 16<sup>th<\/sup>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Action by the Council yesterday included:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Authorizing a contract with Yakima Housing Authority for $1.1      million of HOME Investment funds to assist with redevelopment and      construction of the Veteran&#8217;s Supportive Housing &amp; Service Center      project in the former Armory at 1702 Tahoma Avenue.<\/li><li>Approving a grant application to the Federal Aviation Administration      for capital improvement projects at Yakima Air Terminal-McAllister Field.<\/li><li>Approving one-way restrictions on Fairbanks Avenue between North 6<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue and Custer Avenue, and Jerome Avenue between Campbell Lane and North 6<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue.<\/li><li>Directing staff to schedule meetings with U.S. Representative Dan      Newhouse, Senator Patty Murray, and Senator Maria Cantwell to discuss ICE detainee flights at the Yakima airport.<\/li><li>Forming a council ad-hoc committee consisting of Mayor Kathy Coffey, Assistant Mayor Dulce Gutierrez and Councilmember Brad Hill to review the hiring process for the Assistant City Manager and City Manager positions.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Last night&#8217;s meeting will air on\nYakima Public Affairs Channel (Y-PAC), Charter Cable Channel 194, at 7:00 pm\ntonight, Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Follow this link to\nwatch Y-PAC coverage of the July 16<sup>th<\/sup> meeting on-line &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/videos.yakimawa.gov\/CablecastPublicSite\/show\/9344?channel=2\">http:\/\/videos.yakimawa.gov\/CablecastPublicSite\/show\/9344?channel=2<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Council will hold a special\nagenda preview meeting at 5:30 pm on Tuesday, July 23<sup>rd<\/sup>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The next City Council regular\nmeeting will be at 5:30 pm on Monday, August 5<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Both meetings will be in Council\nChambers at Yakima City Hall, 129 North 2<sup>nd<\/sup> Street.
