{"id":7630,"date":"2019-08-05T15:08:21","date_gmt":"2019-08-05T22:08:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/?p=7630"},"modified":"2019-08-05T15:08:21","modified_gmt":"2019-08-05T22:08:21","slug":"broken-pump-interrupts-irrigation-service-to-king-street-system","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/broken-pump-interrupts-irrigation-service-to-king-street-system\/","title":{"rendered":"Broken Pump Interrupts Irrigation Service to King Street System"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>A broken pump motor has resulted\nin the temporary shutdown of an irrigation system that serves the area of town\nbordered to the north by Mead Avenue, to the south by Pierce Street, to the west\nby Cornell Avenue, and to the east by 3<sup>rd<\/sup> Avenue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The shutdown of what\u2019s known as\nthe \u201cKing Street System\u201d means about 135 customers will be without irrigation water\nuntil the pump motor can be replaced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Replacement of the pump motor is\nexpected to be completed and irrigation service restored to King Street System\ncustomers by Wednesday, August 7<sup>th<\/sup>.&nbsp;\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe have expedited the process to\nget the replacement pump motor ordered,\u201d said Irrigation Supervisor Richard\nSanislo.&nbsp; \u201cAs soon as the replacement\nmotor arrives, we\u2019ll work on getting it installed.&nbsp; We apologize to the King Street System\ncustomers for any inconvenience the temporary shutoff might cause,\u201d said Sanislo.&nbsp; \u201cThe system will be back up and running as\nsoon as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As always, the schedule for this\ntype of project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment\nfailure, shipping issues, and emergencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Customers who have questions about the temporary shutoff of the King Street System can contact the City of Yakima\u2019s Water\/Irrigation Division at 575-6194. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-file\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/6\/files\/sites\/6\/Temporary-Irrigation-System-Shutdown-News-Release-1.pdf\">Temporary-Irrigation-System-Shutdown-News-Release-1<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/6\/files\/sites\/6\/Temporary-Irrigation-System-Shutdown-News-Release-1.pdf\" class=\"wp-block-file__button\" download>Download<\/a><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A broken pump motor has resulted in the temporary shutdown of an irrigation system that serves the area of town bordered to the north by Mead Avenue, to the south by Pierce Street, to the west by Cornell Avenue, and to the east by 3rd Avenue.
