{"id":7663,"date":"2019-08-09T13:09:57","date_gmt":"2019-08-09T20:09:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/?p=7663"},"modified":"2019-08-09T13:46:14","modified_gmt":"2019-08-09T20:46:14","slug":"drive-by-shooting-suspect-captured-in-texas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/drive-by-shooting-suspect-captured-in-texas\/","title":{"rendered":"Drive-By Shooting Suspect Captured in Texas"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>A Yakima man who fled after being\ncharged with eight counts of 1<sup>st<\/sup> Degree Assault and three counts of\ndrive-by shooting was captured yesterday, Thursday, in Lubbock, Texas by Deputy\nU.S. Marshals from the Northern Texas Fugitive Task Force.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The charges against Isaiah\nRodriguez, 22, stemmed from three drive-by shootings on May 12<sup>th<\/sup> and\none on May 16<sup>th<\/sup> in the city of Yakima. Rodriguez was held on\n$100,000 bail, but fled the area after the bail had been paid. At that point he\nwas also charged with Failure to Appear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rodriguez was captured in conjunction with Operation\nInvictus, Undefeatable\nCommunity. It is a joint initiative with the United States Marshals\nService, Operation Triple Beam, Project Safe Neighborhoods and the Pacific\nNorthwest Violent Offenders Task Force (PNVOTF). It is geared toward reducing violent\ncrime in the Yakima region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cYakima Police Department Gang Unit investigators and PNVOTF tracked Rodriguez to the Lubbock area with information developed over the past two weeks,\u201d said Captain Jay Seely. \u201cPNVOTF then sent a lead to the U.S. Marshals Service Northern Texas Fugitive Task Force, who arrested him within hours.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We will be relentless in our efforts to locate and capture those charged with violent crimes,\u201d Captain Seely said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following his capture yesterday,\nRodriguez was booked in Lubbock and the process of returning him to Yakima\nbegan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-file\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/6\/files\/sites\/6\/Drive-By-Shooting-Suspect-Captured-News-Release-1.pdf\">Drive-By-Shooting-Suspect-Captured-News-Release-1<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/6\/files\/sites\/6\/Drive-By-Shooting-Suspect-Captured-News-Release-1.pdf\" class=\"wp-block-file__button\" download>Download<\/a><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Yakima man who fled after being charged with eight counts of 1st Degree Assault and three counts of drive-by shooting was captured yesterday, Thursday, in Lubbock, Texas by Deputy U.S. Marshals from the Northern Texas Fugitive Task Force.
