{"id":7683,"date":"2019-08-16T14:11:39","date_gmt":"2019-08-16T21:11:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/?p=7683"},"modified":"2019-08-16T14:14:41","modified_gmt":"2019-08-16T21:14:41","slug":"broken-pump-interrupts-irrigation-service-to-fruitvale-system","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/broken-pump-interrupts-irrigation-service-to-fruitvale-system\/","title":{"rendered":"Broken Pump Interrupts Irrigation Service to Fruitvale System"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>A broken pump\nmotor has resulted in the temporary shutdown of irrigation water in the area of\nthe City bordered to the north by Fruitvale Boulevard, to the south by Jerome\nAvenue, to the west by North 16<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue, and to the east by North 6<sup>th<\/sup>\nAvenue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The shutdown of\nwhat\u2019s known as the \u201cFruitvale System\u201d means about 256 customers will be\nwithout irrigation service until the pump motor can be replaced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Replacement of\nthe pump motor is expected to be completed and irrigation service restored to\nFruitvale System customers by Wednesday, August 21st.&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe have\nexpedited the process to get the replacement pump motor ordered,\u201d said City of\nYakima Irrigation Supervisor Richard Sanislo.&nbsp;\n\u201cAs soon as the replacement motor arrives, we\u2019ll work on getting it\ninstalled.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe apologize to\nFruitvale System customers for any inconvenience the temporary shutoff might\ncause,\u201d said Sanislo. \u201cThe system will be back up and running as soon as\npossible.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As always, the\nschedule for this type of project is subject to change daily dependent on\nweather, equipment failure, shipping issues, and emergencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Customers who\nhave questions about the temporary shutdown of the Fruitvale System can contact\nthe City of Yakima\u2019s Water\/Irrigation Division at 575-6194. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-file\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/6\/files\/sites\/6\/Fruitvale-Irrigation-System-Temporary-Shutdown-News-Release.pdf\">Fruitvale-Irrigation-System-Temporary-Shutdown-News-Release<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/6\/files\/sites\/6\/Fruitvale-Irrigation-System-Temporary-Shutdown-News-Release.pdf\" class=\"wp-block-file__button\" download>Download<\/a><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A broken pump motor has resulted in the temporary shutdown of irrigation water in the area of the City bordered to the north by Fruitvale Boulevard, to the south by Jerome Avenue, to the west by North 16th Avenue, and to the east by North 6th Avenue.
