The North & South Yakima Conservation\nDistricts are inviting the public to participate in the Fall Heritage Garden\nWorkshop. It will be held from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday, October 26th<\/sup>,\nat the Yakima Area Arboretum. One of the sponsors is the Yakima Basin\nIntegrated Plan (YBIP) Water Use Committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n “The focus is on creating water-wise\nlandscapes and gardens in our arid climate,” said City of Yakima Interim Public\nWorks Director David Brown, who chairs the YBIP’s Municipal Water Conservation Subgroup.\n“The workshop is being offered as part of the YBIP’s ongoing efforts in\nwater conservation.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n Click https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSe0cIAzrcQbkxbY-4M_03So7A85VeaE1mzBimBK0dKpQXuNFg\/viewform<\/a>\n to register for the workshop. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The registration deadline is Wednesday, October 23rd<\/sup>.\nSpace is limited to 99 people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Besides learning about water conservation,\nworkshop attendees will learn how to incorporate unique natural and cultural\nfeatures into landscapes and watch a presentation on wildflowers of the\nShrub-Steppe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Click https:\/\/www.hgcd.info\/calendar<\/a> for\nmore about the free Heritage Garden Workshop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The October 26th<\/sup>\nworkshop continues the City of Yakima’s water conservation emphasis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Last fall, the\nCity installed low-water use landscaping at the Public Works facility.
