{"id":7958,"date":"2019-11-18T11:51:46","date_gmt":"2019-11-18T19:51:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/?p=7958"},"modified":"2019-11-18T11:51:47","modified_gmt":"2019-11-18T19:51:47","slug":"harman-center-hosting-2nd-annual-lego-winter-village-contest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/harman-center-hosting-2nd-annual-lego-winter-village-contest\/","title":{"rendered":"Harman Center Hosting 2nd Annual Lego Winter Village Contest"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Pictures with Santa, a hot cocoa\nbar and holiday crafts will be offered during the City of Yakima Harman\nCenter&#8217;s 2<sup>nd<\/sup> annual &#8220;Santa&#8217;s Workshop and Lego Village\nCompetition&#8221; event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The free event is from 10:00 am\nto 1:00 pm on Saturday, Dec. 7<sup>th<\/sup>. &nbsp;Contestants must pre-register for the Lego\nVillage Competition contest by Thursday, December 5<sup>th<\/sup> They can\npre-register at the Harman Center&#8217;s front desk at 101 N. 65<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue\nor by calling 575-6166.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Our hope is for a\nmulti-generational event, with parents, grandparents, children having fun\ntogether with Legos,&#8221; said Recreation Program Supervisor Leslie Richards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The theme for this year is a\nmedieval winter village Lego contest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prizes in the form of gift cards\ndonated by local businesses will be awarded to Lego entries submitted in two\ndifferent categories: Originally Built and Fan Favorite. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There will be first, second and\nthird-place prizes awarded in the Originally Built category, which requires\nparticipants to create an entry that is not based on a kit or internet\ninstructions.
