Preparations\nare under way for the arrival of Yakima’s Community Christmas Tree tomorrow,\nTuesday, November 26th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\ntree arrival at Millennium Plaza is estimated to be between 11:00 am and 12:00\npm tomorrow. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\nDowntown Association of Yakima (DAY) crew, with the assistance of the City of\nYakima, will secure a tree provided by a Yakima area residence, move the tree\nto Millennium Plaza, and secure the tree into the ground. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The tree’s arrival will not\nimpact traffic, though parking spaces adjacent to Millennium Plaza on 3rd\nStreet will be closed to accommodate the installation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Plans for transporting the tree to Downtown Yakima tomorrow are subject to\nchange dependent on weather and equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The official tree lighting\nceremony will be Sunday, December 8th<\/sup>, at the conclusion of Downtown\nYakima’s annual Holiday Lighted Parade. The parade starts at 6:00 pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Volunteers with DAY will be\nhanging lights on trees in the Plaza area prior to the parade and lighting\nceremony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
