{"id":8120,"date":"2019-12-30T09:13:02","date_gmt":"2019-12-30T17:13:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/?p=8120"},"modified":"2019-12-30T09:20:07","modified_gmt":"2019-12-30T17:20:07","slug":"options-available-for-christmas-tree-disposal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/options-available-for-christmas-tree-disposal\/","title":{"rendered":"Options Available for Christmas Tree Disposal"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>With the holiday season winding\ndown, the City of Yakima does offer an option for Christmas tree disposal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;If you would\nlike our Refuse drivers to pick your tree up from your home, please call the\nRefuse Division at 575-6005 to set an appointment,&#8221; said Solid Waste\nManager Loretta Zammarchi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The cost is $10.00\nfor trees up to 5 feet and $15.00 for trees greater than 5 feet. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;These taller\ntrees need to be cut in half before pick-up,&#8221; Zammarchi said. &#8220;If\nresidents have more than one tree they need to call us to schedule a special\nhaul.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She also suggested a recycling\nopportunity that benefits a local non-profit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Camp Prime\nTime is offering a Christmas tree recycling service to benefit their\nrecreational facility for families who have a child with a serious or terminal illness or is\ndevelopmentally disabled,&#8221; Zammarchi\nsaid. &#8220;They&#8217;ve been offering this for more than 20 years. All you need to\ndo is take your tree to Washington Tractor, 3110 Fruitvale Boulevard, between\n8:00 am and 5:00 pm through January 5<sup>th<\/sup>.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This\nservice is provided by the volunteers for Camp Prime Time, Washington Tractor,\nPacific Power, Trickinnex Tree Trimming &amp; Falling, LLC, Cliff\u2019s Septic,\nCity of Yakima and Yakima County Public Services, Solid Waste Division, All\nAmerican Propane, and Yakima Theatres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Visit\n<a href=\"https:\/\/campprimetime.org\/specialevents.html\">https:\/\/campprimetime.org\/specialevents.html<\/a>\nfor more about Camp Prime Time\u2019s Christmas tree recycling program.
