{"id":832,"date":"2013-07-09T11:35:31","date_gmt":"2013-07-09T18:35:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/?p=832"},"modified":"2013-07-09T11:35:31","modified_gmt":"2013-07-09T18:35:31","slug":"grind-and-overlay-project-to-impact-traffic-on-nob-hill-and-washington","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/grind-and-overlay-project-to-impact-traffic-on-nob-hill-and-washington\/","title":{"rendered":"Grind and Overlay Project to Impact Traffic on Nob Hill and Washington"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This project rebuilds and improves various street segments throughout the city.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Work includes pavement repair, planing bituminous pavement, paving with hot mix asphalt, constructing ADA ramps and pavement markings.\u00a0 The overall project is scheduled to be completed in 90 working days, which extends the project into late October, 2013.<\/p>\n<h6 align=\"center\">Roadway grinding and roadway paving will occur Wednesday and Thursday nights.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 This work and roadway closures will be as follow:<\/h6>\n<p><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Wednesday July 10<sup>th<\/sup><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p>For <b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">roadway grinding<\/span><\/b> activities, Nob Hill Blvd will be closed to all traffic from the Overpass west of 1<sup>st<\/sup> Street, easterly <b><i><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">to Fair Avenue<\/span><\/i><\/b>;\u00a0 this includes the closure of the 1<sup>st<\/sup> Street &amp; Nob Hill Blvd intersection and 1<sup>st<\/sup> Street immediately adjacent to Nob Hill \u00a0 Blvd.<\/p>\n<p>The 6<sup>th<\/sup> \u00a0 Street intersection at Nob Hill Blvd will remain open for traffic detours.<\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Thursday July 11<sup>th<\/sup><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p>For <b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">roadway paving<\/span><\/b> activities, Nob Hill Blvd will be closed to all traffic from the Overpass west of 1<sup>st<\/sup> Street, <b><i><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">easterly to 6<sup>th<\/sup> Street<\/span><\/i><\/b>;\u00a0 this includes the closure of the 1<sup>st<\/sup> Street &amp; Nob Hill Blvd intersection and 1<sup>st<\/sup> street immediately adjacent to Nob Hill Blvd.\u00a0 Closure will be in place from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>For <b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">roadway grinding AND paving<\/span><\/b> activities, Washington Avenue from Nob Hill Blvd. will be closed to all traffic from 1<sup>st<\/sup> Street, <b><i><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">easterly to 14<sup>th<\/sup> Street<\/span><\/i><\/b>;<\/p>\n<p>Closure will be in place from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>Detours will be in place both days to redirect traffic.<\/p>\n<p>Motorists and Pedestrians are advised to be aware of heavy equipment.<\/p>\n<p>Please use alternate routes when you can.<\/p>\n<p>For further information contact:<\/p>\n<p>Bob Desgrosellier, Senior Engineer (575-6228)<\/p>\n<p>City of Yakima<\/p>\n<p>129 N. 2nd Street<\/p>\n<p>98901<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/6\/files\/sites\/6\/Grind-and-Overlay-Update-7-9-13.pdf\">Grind and Overlay Update &#8211; 7-9-13<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This project rebuilds and improves various street segments throughout the city.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Work includes pavement repair, planing bituminous pavement, paving with hot mix asphalt, constructing ADA ramps and pavement markings.\u00a0 The overall project is scheduled to be completed in 90 working days, which extends the project into late October, 2013.
