{"id":8469,"date":"2020-03-10T15:00:40","date_gmt":"2020-03-10T22:00:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/?p=8469"},"modified":"2020-03-10T15:00:41","modified_gmt":"2020-03-10T22:00:41","slug":"crack-sealing-project-to-impact-traffic-on-nob-hill","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/crack-sealing-project-to-impact-traffic-on-nob-hill\/","title":{"rendered":"Crack Sealing Project to Impact Traffic on Nob Hill"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>A project involving &#8220;crack\nsealing&#8221; will impact traffic along a portion of Nob Hill Boulevard on\nWednesday, March 11<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>City of Yakima crews will be filling cracks along the\nsection of Nob Hill between 18<sup>th<\/sup> Street and 8<sup>th<\/sup> Street on\nMarch 11<sup>th<\/sup>.&nbsp; Work on the\nproject will take place from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Traffic restrictions will be in place along the section of Nob\nHill being crack sealed. &nbsp;Flaggers will\nbe on site to assist drivers in navigating the project area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Crack sealing is one of the most inexpensive forms of road\nmaintenance and is an effective method of preventing water from penetrating the\nroadbed and causing further damage including, most notably, potholes.&nbsp; Cracks caused by fatigue, changes in\ntemperature, regular traffic use, etc. are first cleaned using pressurized air.&nbsp; Cracks are then filled with an asphalt\nemulsion, thereby preserving not only the roadbed, but the pavement adjacent to\nthe cracks.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Drivers are reminded that the speed limit through all\ntraffic-related works zones within the City of Yakima is 20 miles-per-hour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the project, traffic delays in the area are likely\nto occur.&nbsp; Drivers should use alternate routes\nuntil the project is completed.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Access to homes and businesses in the project area will be\nmaintained as best as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As always, the schedule for this type of a project is\nsubject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and\nemergencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For additional information about this project, contact Streets and Traffic Operations Manager Joe Rosenlund at 576-6430.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-file\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/6\/files\/sites\/6\/Nob-Hill-Crack-Sealing-Project-News-Release.pdf\">Nob-Hill-Crack-Sealing-Project-News-Release<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/6\/files\/sites\/6\/Nob-Hill-Crack-Sealing-Project-News-Release.pdf\" class=\"wp-block-file__button\" download>Download<\/a><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A project involving &#8220;crack sealing&#8221; will impact traffic along a portion of Nob Hill Boulevard on Wednesday, March 11th.
