{"id":9052,"date":"2020-06-25T13:37:06","date_gmt":"2020-06-25T20:37:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/?p=9052"},"modified":"2020-06-25T13:37:07","modified_gmt":"2020-06-25T20:37:07","slug":"yakima-airport-providing-face-masks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/yakima-airport-providing-face-masks\/","title":{"rendered":"Yakima Airport Providing Face Masks"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>To help slow the spread of COVID-19, and in compliance with face covering requirements that take effect Friday, Yakima Air Terminal-McAllister Field (YKM) will provide more than 12,000 masks to airport tenants, passengers and visitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>YKM has received 6,500 cloth masks from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and will receive an additional 6,000 masks from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve ordered facemask dispensers for the terminal building and they will be placed strategically throughout the facility for tenants, passengers, and visitors to utilize,\u201d said Airport Director Rob Peterson. \u201cThis comes at a time where we are starting to see an increase in passenger traffic.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>YKM will also provide hand sanitizer adjacent to the facemask locations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Plans continue later this summer for a runway improvement project at YKM that will require closing the airport runway from 6:00 am on Monday, August 24<sup>th<\/sup>, through 8:00 pm on Saturday, August 29<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Airline passengers are encouraged to seek alternate travel arrangements between August 24<sup>th<\/sup> and August 29<sup>th<\/sup>, such as traveling via Airporter Shuttle.
