Even though traditional 4<sup>th<\/sup> of July celebrations, including large fireworks displays, may not be happening due to COVID-19, it is still possible to celebrate with a different sort of display to brighten local neighborhoods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>City of Yakima residents this year are encouraged to decorate their driveways and sidewalks with chalk art to celebrate the 4<sup>th<\/sup> of July. Leading up to July 4<sup>th<\/sup>, community members are urged to use chalk to draw colorful fireworks or other designs that inspire them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once they\u2019re done, community members can post their creations on social media using the #ChalkYakima hashtag.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Along with making sure sidewalks are passable while chalk artists are creating their designs, people taking part in the #ChalkYakima 4<sup>th<\/sup> of July event need to make sure to follow all COVID-19 safety advice from public health officials including social distancing guidelines and mask-wearing requirements.
