Seeing double

This week’s photo is courtesy Yakima Airport and shows a recent rare occurrence of two aircraft on the ramp at the same time. Passengers will also see double the number of flights between Yakima and Seattle as Alaska Airlines announced it will resume a second daily flight starting Nov. 17th.

Miller Mosaic

This week’s photo shows a water-themed mosaic mural located appropriately near the spray feature at Miller Park. The mosaic is one of several new improvements at Miller Park that was celebrated during a ribbon-cutting ceremony on June 22nd.

Dozer Day Display

The City of Yakima Refuse Division was one of the featured participants during Dozer Day on Saturday, April 15, at State Fair Park. The annual event is a treat for families and children to see big rigs at work.

Oath of Office

With her family looking on, new Yakima City Clerk Rosalinda Ibarra receives the oath of office during the Yakima City Council meeting on April 4th. Ibarra, a longtime City employee, is replacing Sonya Claar Tee, who will retire in June after serving the City of Yakima for more than 30 years.
