Where Am I in Yakima?

The brick artwork around the windows of Yakima Valley College’s Raymond Hall are intended to represent “lamps of learning.” They are based on the “Betty Lamp,” an oil lantern used before the advent of electricity. Formerly known as the Raymond Library, the 27,487 square-foot building was constructed in 1967. It was remodeled in 2008 and at that time it was rededicated as Raymond Hall. It continues to house Raymond Library.
