The Henry\nBeauchamp Community Center Advisory Board, Arts Commission, Community Review Board, and Bicycle\/Pedestrian\nCommittee each have one available position.&nbsp;\nThe Historic Preservation Commission and\nthe Board of Appeals currently have two available openings each. It is the\nresponsibility of the City Council to appoint people to serve on the governing\nbodies of those organizations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are seven members of the Henry Beauchamp Community\nCenter Advisory Board, all of whom serve four-year terms and must live within\nYakima city limits. The board holds quarterly meetings and makes\nrecommendations to the center operator and the City regarding management\npolicies, operations, maintenance, and capital improvement needs. The\nappointees are based upon the recommendation of the board of directors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are no residency\nrequirements for the current openings on the Arts Commission, whose members\nserve four-year terms.&nbsp; The available\nposition on the commission needs to be filled by an artist. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is no residency requirement\nfor members of the Community Review Board, but the positions must represent\ndifferent aspects of the public as a whole.&nbsp;\nCurrently there is a vacancy on the board for a representative of the healthcare\ncommunity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Bicycle and Pedestrian\nAdvisory Committee Board has seven members.&nbsp;\nCurrently, there is one vacancy. Members serve a three-year term and\nmust live within the Yakima city limits. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are seven members of the\nHistoric Preservation Commission, all of whom serve four-year terms and must\nlive within Yakima city limits. Currently there are two vacancies on the commission,\nwhich shall include at least three professionals who have experience in\nidentifying, evaluating, and protecting historic resources and are selected\nfrom among the disciplines of history, architecture, architectural history,\nlandscape architecture, historic preservation, planning, folklore, cultural\nanthropology, prehistoric and historic archaeology, American studies, curation,\ntraditional building crafts, the practice of historic rehabilitation or\nrestoration, finance and banking, law, real estate, or related disciplines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are seven members on the Board of Appeals\nwho serve three-year terms.
