The Annual Action Plan explains how the City will use the funds from HUD in the City Fiscal Year (FY) 2024 to address Yakima\u2019s housing and community development needs.&nbsp; Programs proposed in the 2024 Annual Action Plan are guided by the Priority Needs in the FY 2020-2024 Consolidated Plan. The activities included in the 2024 Annual Action Plan include these goals:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Single Family Rehabilitation Program<\/strong> \u2013 Supports the preservation of the existing affordable house ownership by substantial rehabilitation of existing owner-occupied family units for low to moderate income families.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>First Time Homeownership Program<\/strong> \u2013 Provides direct financial assistance to qualified&nbsp; first-time home buyers in the City of Yakima, thus expanding affordable homeownership opportunities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Community Housing Development<\/strong> Organizations \u2013 Assisting a certified Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO) to develop affordable housing for qualified First Time Homeowners.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>New Construction<\/strong> \u2013 To increase the affordable housing opportunities in the City of Yakima, funding may include, but not limited to, homeowners and rental units, rehabilitation of housing stock and CHDO activities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Public Service<\/strong> \u2013 funds may be used to support direct services to individuals and families including, but not limited to, emergency food assistance, health and dental care, housing counseling, workforce development, supportive housing for special needs populations, and other programs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Public Facilities and Infrastructure<\/strong> \u2013 To improve the qualify of life and safety of the low-and moderate-income residents in the City of Yakima, funds may be used to support construction or rehabilitation of public facilities, public infrastructure, parks and playgrounds.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Code Compliance<\/strong> \u2013 To improve the physical environment of designated areas in the City, assistance may be provided to ensure local ordinances regarding health, safety, housing or building codes and other standards are ensured, as well as limited assistance in repairs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-content-justification-center is-layout-flex wp-container-core-buttons-is-layout-16018d1d wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button gb-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link has-text-color has-background has-custom-font-size wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/services\/neighborhood-development-services\/files\/2024-Annual-Action-Plan-Working-Draft_UPDATED_-May-17-2024.pdf\" style=\"border-radius:100px;color:#ffffff;background-color:#198754;padding-top:10px;padding-right:1em;padding-bottom:10px;padding-left:1em;font-size:20px;line-height:1.2\">Click to view\/download the 2024 Annual Action Plan<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The 2024 Annual Action Plan is the City\u2019s application to the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnership Program (HOME) funds.
