This work took place throughout 2020 and early 2021. It considers the housing needs of current residents and workforce as well as projected future population growth. There are six primary objectives:<br>  A.   Encourage diverse housing development within existing neighborhoods.<br>  B.   Create and preserve affordable homes.<br>  C.   Create homeownership opportunities for low- and moderate- income households.<br>  D.   Support housing options that meet the diverse needs of older adults.<br>  E.   Address the needs of those struggling with homelessness.<br>  F.   Protect against displacement and poor housing conditions.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">HAP &#8211; Background Information<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/services\/planning\/files\/2021\/07\/R-2021-083-Resolution-adopting-the-Yakima-Housing-Action-Plan.pdf\">Resolution No. R-2021-083<\/a> approved by City Council on June 15, 2021<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/services\/planning\/files\/2021\/05\/CC-PACKET-Yakima-Housing-Action-Plan-SEPA007-20.pdf\">Council Packet &#8211; Housing Action Plan<\/a> &#8211; distributed May 18, 2021 for Council hearing on June 1, 2021<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/services\/planning\/files\/2020\/12\/TAC-Meeting-2-Presentation-Survey-Findings-Only.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Housing Action Plan Survey Results<\/a><span style=\"color: initial\">, December 9, 2020<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/services\/planning\/files\/2020\/10\/Policy-Review_HAP_2020_1012_cln_wmk.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Housing Policy Framework Evaluation<\/a>, released in October 2020 for public review<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/services\/planning\/files\/2020\/05\/Yakima-HNA-2020_0422.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Preliminary Housing Needs Assessment<\/a>, released in April 2020 for public review<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/services\/planning\/hap-faq\/\" target=\"_blank\">Frequently Asked Questions<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">HAP &#8211; Implementation Strategies in Review by the Yakima Planning Commission<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Yakima Planning Commission (YPC) is involved in reviewing and implementing changes to the Zoning Ordinance (YMC Title 15) and the Subdivision Ordinance (YMC Title 14) as they relate to the Implementation Strategies of the Housing Action Plan.
