Message from Chief Matt Murray…

Hi, I’m Matthew Murray, Yakima’s Chief of Police. I’ve been a police officer for nearly 30 years, and I’m proud to be leading our great police force here in Yakima. We believe that to effectively police in a community, there has to be trust—and trust is built in relationships. That’s why, since starting as Chief of Police, I’ve made it a priority to get out into the community and get to know people. If you see me or other officers in your neighborhood, we invite you to come say hello or just give us a wave. It’s our goal to build relationships and ultimately reduce crime. When police know their community and have earned the trust of its residents that builds stronger, safer communities. Communication is a powerful tool in bringing communities together and keeping them safe. This website is designed to help you find what you need. If you have questions, please let us know. We’re here to listen and connect.

26 red light collisions, unbelievable. I see it constantly, infuriating.

This is terrifying and exactly why I have a car cam......stay aware and watch all of your surroundings including the sides and rear of your car while driving..... people run stop signs, pull out in front of you, tailgate, and speed all the things that cause accidents and those of us who are safe drivers have to pay extra attention so we don't pay for their carelessness and stupidity.....I'm sure most of these people have no insurance, don't care about other drivers, and shouldn't be on the road in the first place 😡😡😡

Blood is on the hands of the Yakima Police Department. I warned the Yakima Police Department with my concerns about officer Elias Huizar 11 weeks ago, and the Yakima Police Department ignored it.

Explain why you gave that murderer a glowing review so he was able to get a job at the school district IF you disciplined him?? Y'all are a bunch of damn liars.

NEWS RELEASE
The Yakima Police Department is aware of the murder allegations of an ex-officer (who left the department after receiving discipline in late 2021). The incidents in question occurred in West Richland, Washington, and the Yakima Police Department is assisting in any way we are able and requested.

“The tragedies we are learning about in West Richland are heartbreaking. Words cannot express the deep sympathy we feel for all affected by these terrible acts of violence,” Chief Murray said. “We remain ready to assist in any way we are able.”

All media inquiries should be made to West Richland Police Commander Coates.

YALL FAILED THAT WOMAN AND THOSE CHILDREN! #CASECLOSED!!

Our justice system is disgusting! More and more innocent lives are taken at the hands of individuals that our system protects. Who protects the innocent individuals, who protects the innocent individuals families? God have mercy on all your souls

Not allegations.

What’s the name of the judge(s) that: 1. Allowed BAIL of a violent sex offender 2. Denied the ex wife’s petition for a order of protection ?!?! These judges need to be held accountable- they are just as much at fault. They have blood on their hands and nothing ever changes after these women/children are murdered!!

Guy gets a 15 year old pregnant but walks around Scott free

You should have never released him back into society in the first place now look 3 babies without moms because someone couldn’t do their job right 💯

He shouldn’t of ever got released at all now look what happen.. do better

He should have been in prison right now.

They treat anyone outside there group guilty before there day in court ..

Allegations huh?

YPD and YSD 😡🤬. You could’ve done more to stop this! YSD, why did you give Huizar a glowing report so that he could easily be hired in our school district?

Your system failed these family’s

Kids very, very rarely make up sexual abuse allegations. The fact that the girl was basically called a liar is what gets me right in the heart. That should have been the end of him in society right there. 🥺🤬

This should've never happened. He should've been in jail, period!

What was he disciplined for YPD???

And you wonder why no one respects cops anymore.

You guys have a lot of explaining to do here. I hope they bring the hammer down on every department in Yakima over this shit

That's not his last name..Dis he get it legally changed I knew this guy as a kid

He was found

This means that they aren’t gonna do shit but watch from behind the screen worthless ypd

Yakima has become a nearly lawless town. The 911 call center only forwards your call to the YPD if they think it is important enough and not at all if they think the police are too busy. Thieves are allowed to rip off stores without fear of getting caught. Drugs are rampant. Might as well call us the fentanyl and meth capital of eastern Washington.

So glad they found them and baby and baby is safe.

I can't believe this man was ever inserted into a school system. Then to release him on bail?! Look at the damage he has done to the community. Orphaned children. Entire schools traumatized. Why even have school resource officers? WTF?!! I could literally throw up right now.

Ickedmel on did a YouTube video on this. Murray failed again….

Thelma Not-Louise and Kim Dorsey-Maling did you ladies see this?

I heard that they found the baby in Oregon and is okay. The guy I heard off himself... I don't know that is what I heard... If true he took the coward way out.

They got him. Lane county oregon. Baby is okay. The man is being taken to hospital with self inflicted wound to the head

Time for an outside agency to investigate your dept. How the hell did he get a job with his background? And how did he keep it despite allegations?

Never received an amber alert may want to follow up

Hopefully the kid is ok and safe.

Yakima Police Department it's being reported that the vehicle is a Corolla not a camry. And your link goes to nothing!!!

Shared in Indiana!!

Yakima Police Department, I believe they updated the Amber Alert to a Corrola not Camry.

he must have really hated her. A sick man

Is this the SAME COP who was arrested on March 18th for Domestic Violence and you let him go so he could KILL HER or is this ANOTHER ONE?

toyota corolla*

Found Safe; Alert Canceled; Suspect shot himself in the head but no update on whether that was effective.

I don’t trust none of you pigs

Please use the right flyer! It was NOT a Camry, its a Corolla. weshsalfa.com/found-amber-alert-issued-for-missing-1-year-old-from-west-richland-washington/

If he received discipline how the hell did he get hired at the school district??? You clearly gave him a glowing review to the district!! YPD are a bunch of damn liars. All they are doing is trying to cover for their absolute BS!! CORRUPT AND DIRTY!!
