Holiday preparations are underway in Yakima thanks to the arrival of the Community Christmas Tree on Thursday, Nov. 15th. The tree was donated by a local family. The Downtown Association of Yakima, the City of Yakima and volunteers all partnered together to get the tree set up at Millennium Plaza.

A literal trimming of the tree was required before setting the 25-foot tall evergreen in place. Click https://www.yakimawa.gov/media/stories/wp-content/blogs.dir/7/files/sites/7/2018/11/tree-trimming.mov to watch a brief video.

A crane takes center stage as it helps secure the tree at Millennium Plaza.

The tree will be decorated over the next several days, culminating with a lighting ceremony following the 19th annual Yakima Christmas Lights Parade on Sunday, Dec. 2nd.
