Public Accommodations – The City of Yakima Policy for Compliance regarding ADA Act of 1990 and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act 1973.
Should you or someone you are assisting have a complaint, please first contact the Department where the issue arises. Each Department is expected to help resolve issues early such that our policy goal of serving those with disabilities is carried out efficiently.
If following that contact you are not satisfied that your issue has been appropriately resolved, then contact Connie Mendoza, the City ADA Coordinator at (509) 575-6090 or Connie.Mendoza@yakimawa.gov. Their role is to be an impartial contact to work with those with disabilities to resolve any such issues at the earliest opportunity and to the greatest extent reasonable.
Failing resolution at the City level, complaints may be filed with the State of Washington Human Rights Commission at www.hum.wa.gov, or with the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division at www.ada.gov/filing_complaint.htm.
