Wastewater Treatment Plants must demonstrate that the effluent being discharged meets environmental and health standards by regularly monitoring for the presence of certain pollutants according to strict procedures. The methods adopted and used by the state of Washington are those that have been approved through the EPA. The Certification process by the state of Washington requires strict adherence to the Federal and State guidelines and annual proficiency testing and inspection.

Here at the Yakima Regional Wastewater Plant, it is our goal and commitment to assure compliance with the regulatory requirements for the discharge of treated water and the recycling of biosolids. Through stringent Quality Control/Quality Assurance and the use of state-of-the-art equipment, we provide reliable data for billing our external customers and maintaining our Certification status.
