A City uniquely positioned to serve the Pacific Northwest, Yakima takes pride in its’ on-going commitment to assist start-up businesses, grow local companies, and attract new development to locate in our city.
A year round Public Market / Business Incubator was identified as a key recommendation of the Downtown Master Plan project undertaken by the City of Yakima in 2013. Public Market / Business Incubators have been effective small business development tools throughout the state. Well known examples include Pike Place Market in Seattle or the newly created Pybus Market in Wenatchee. The City of Yakima has hired BDS Consulting from Seattle to determine the overall feasibility of the project, potential locations, operating structure and potential financing options.
