Notice is hereby given that the City of Yakima is considering a substantial amendment to the 2024 Annual Action Plan, regarding $67,500 of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds allocated for Public Services that were not used for that purpose in the 2024 Program Year. The proposed amendment would reallocate those funds to the Emergency Home Repair Program, as seen in the table below:
| Annual Action Plan | Entitlement Funds Amount | Prior Allocation | Proposed New Allocation |
| 2024 | $67,500.00 | Public Services (CDBG) | Emergency Home Repair Program (CDBG) |
The reason for the proposed amendment is that because Public Service funding is limited to 15% of the annual CDBG allocation, HUD requires Public Services contracts to be completed in the same Program Year in which the funds were allocated. During the 2024 Program Year, there were no such contracts completed; therefore, the funds must be reallocated to an eligible CDBG activity. The CDBG-funded Emergency Home Repair Program is ongoing and is eligible to use funding from multiple program years, so the funds are eligible to be reallocated to that activity.
The City is requesting the public’s input on the proposed substantial amendment. There are two ways the public can provide their input, as detailed below.
