Harman Center Hosting Lego Tournament

“Space” is the theme for the second annual Lego Tournament the City of Yakima’s Harman Center will host from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday, July 27th.

“Our hope is for a multi-generational event, with parents, grandparents, children having fun together with Legos,” said Recreation Program Supervisor Leslie Richards. “It will be an opportunity for the community to sharpen its building skills and earn prizes.”

During the tournament, McGruff the Crime Dog will be on hand for photos. In addition, there will be activity stations such as temporary tattoos, coloring and a space-themed story time.

Contestants must pre-register for the Lego contest by 2:00 pm on Thursday, July 25th. They can pre-register at the Harman Center’s front desk at 101 N. 65th Avenue or by calling 575-6166.

Prizes in the form of gift cards donated by local businesses will be awarded to winning Lego entries.

Members of the Harvest Lego User Group will serve as judges for the competition. Bricks for Kidz will be at the event as well.
