Overnight Closures Planned for Nob Hill Boulevard

Overnight closures of a 16-block stretch of Nob Hill Boulevard will be required for an ongoing street project.

Nob Hill Boulevard will be closed overnight this Wednesday and Thursday, August 30th and 31st, from 7:00 pm to 6:00 am between 13th Avenue and 29th Avenue.

Nob Hill will re-open Friday morning at 6:00 am and remain open throughout the Labor Day holiday.

However, overnight closures of Nob Hill between 13th Avenue and 29th Avenue will resume weeknights Tuesday, September 5th, through Friday, September 15th.

Detours will be posted throughout the project area and on side streets.

The closure is due to a grind and overlay project of Nob Hill Boulevard from 13th Avenue to 29th Avenue. Work began on June 26th and the project is expected to last until mid-October.

Access to properties in the project area are being maintained as best as possible.

The schedule for this type of project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.

Drivers are reminded the speed limit through all traffic-related work zones within the City of Yakima is 20 miles-per-hour.

During the project, traffic delays in the area are likely to occur. Drivers should use alternate routes until project completion.

Contact Acting Construction Supervisor Dana Kallevig at 509-249-6813 for more information about the project.
