This photo of the week comes to us from Yakima Police Dept with a reminder the speed limit is 20 mph in City of Yakima work zones. In recent days, YPD traffic officers have cited several drivers near a construction zone on Summitview Ave for speeding.
Washington State Treasurer Mike Pellicciotti (center) visited downtown Yakima last week to see the new Rotary Marketplace and learn how it is benefitting the community. Rotary Marketplace is located at 15 W Yakima Ave and hosts Downtown Yakima Farmers Market (DYFM) each Sunday from 9 am to 1 pm.

The City of Yakima Refuse Division was one of the featured participants during Dozer Day on Saturday, April 15, at State Fair Park. The annual event is a treat for families and children to see big rigs at work.
This photo is from Yakima Police Department on Jan. 9th during a visit to local schools for National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. YPD and Washington State Patrol were invited to Whitney Elementary School and Garfield Elementary School, where they received cards of thanks to take back and share with fellow officers and troopers.
