This week’s photo shows the Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) Monument at Tahoma Cemetery. It honors more than 200 Civil War veterans who lived in the Yakima Valley and are buried in the cemetery’s GAR section.

The City of Yakima’s Tahoma Cemetery is the site of a Blue Star Monument to be dedicated at 11 am on Veterans Day, Wednesday, Nov. 11th.
