Christmas Tree Disposal Options Available

With the holiday season winding down, the City of Yakima does offer city residents an option for Christmas tree disposal. Residents can schedule an appointment with the City’s Refuse Division for tree pick up by calling 509-575-6005.

The cost is $10.00 for trees up to 5 feet and $15.00 for trees greater than 5 feet.

Taller trees need to be cut in half before pick-up. If residents have more than one tree they need to call the Refuse Division to schedule a special haul.

There is also a Christmas tree recycling opportunity that benefits a local non-profit.

Camp Prime Time offers a Christmas tree recycling service to benefit its recreational facility for families who have a child with a serious or terminal illness or is developmentally disabled. Christmas trees can be taken to Pape Machinery Agriculture and Turf (formerly Washington Tractor), 3110 Fruitvale Boulevard, between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm through January 5th. Financial donations are accepted to benefit Camp Prime Time.

This tree recycling service is provided by Camp Prime Time volunteers in coordination with several local businesses and organizations, including the City of Yakima Refuse Division. Participants include All American Propane, Cliff’s Septic, Coca Cola Bottling Yakima, DTG Recycle, Pacific Power, Pape Machinery Agriculture & Turf, Valley Sign & Barricade, Trickinnex Tree Trimming, Yakima County Solid Waste and Yakima Theatres.
