The tennis courts at Franklin Park are resurfaced and open to the public thanks to the work of City of Yakima park maintenance staff.

“This was a major undertaking and all the work was performed by park maintenance staff led by Park Maintenance Technician David Flory,” said Parks & Recreation Manager Ken Wilkinson. “These courts were in very poor shape and we are pleased to have been able make these improvements so that the courts can once again be used.”

Tennis court resurfacing at Franklin Park was funded by $5,000 in donated materials and $8,000 in additional funds for materials from the City of Yakima Parks and Recreation budget.

“Having city staff do the work saved the parks budget a substantial amount in labor costs,” said Wilkinson.
