Councilmember Byers Hosts Community Forum on Thursday, Dec. 1st

Yakima City Councilmember Patricia Byers will host a community forum this Thursday, December 1st. It will be 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm at Chuck Austin Place, 1630 South 16th Avenue, in the facility’s Flex Room.

“The forum will provide an opportunity for community members to ask questions and provide feedback,” said Byers. “It will give people a chance to bring up issues and to learn more about what the Council and the City are working on now and what kinds of things should be focused on moving forward.”

Light refreshments will be served during the forum.

Byers expects public safety, traffic, road construction, economic development and other issues to be raised during the forum. In addition to Byers, City staff members will be at the forum to address questions that might come up and to provide information on specific City projects and policies.

Byers represents District 3 on the Yakima City Council. She was elected to City Council in November 2019.

This will be the second community forum hosted by a Yakima City Council member in the past two months. Councilmember Matt Brown (District 6) held a forum at the Harman Center on September 22nd.

“Thursday’s forum will be yet another opportunity to connect with community members,” said Byers. “I’m looking forward to it.”
