Fair Avenue Sewer Project to Impact Traffic

A project to upsize an existing sewer line will impact traffic on a section of Fair Avenue starting next Tuesday, June 23rd.

The project covers an area of Fair Avenue from Spruce Street to the Interstate 82 off-ramp (Exit 33A).

Traffic in the project area will be limited to one lane at times. Flaggers will be on hand to guide drivers through the area.

Traffic congestion is possible during the project. Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes if possible until the work is completed.

The project is expected to require 35 working days, with completion anticipated in early August.

Belsaas & Smith Construction, Inc. of Ellensburg will be the contractor for the City sewer project.

Drivers are reminded that the speed limit through all traffic-related work zones within the City of Yakima is 20 miles-per-hour.

As always, the schedule for this type of project is subject to change dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.
