Drivers may experience intermittent road closures on 48th Avenue between Summitview Avenue and Nob Hill Boulevard on Tuesday and Wednesday, August 19th and 20th.
City of Yakima crews will be fog sealing that section of roadway the next two days between 6:00 am and 4:00 pm.
“An asphalt fog seal is a cost-effective pavement preservation treatment that involves applying a thin layer of diluted, slow-setting asphalt emulsion to an existing chip seal surface,” said Street Maintenance Supervisor Jay Kendall. “It protects the surface from water and UV damage, extending the chip seal lifespan.”
Access will be maintained to properties in the project area as best as possible.
Drivers are encouraged to slow down in work zones, look out for workers and follow posted speed limits.
As always, the schedule for this type of a project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.
