General Election Ballots to be Mailed This Week

Ballots for the November 7th General Election will be in the mail this week to registered voters residing in the City of Yakima and elsewhere in Yakima County.

Yakima County elections officials will mail out the ballots by this Friday, October 20th. Yakima County uses an all-mail-in voting system, so ballots that are postmarked before midnight on November 7th will be considered valid for the General Election.

Items to be decided on the ballot include three Yakima City Council seats; Districts 2, 4, and 6; and three statewide advisory votes.

Yakima County Commissioners also have placed an advisory item on the ballot related to the production, processing and retail sales of marijuana in unincorporated areas of the county.

The first results of the November 7th General Election will be posted on Yakima County’s website – http://www.yakimacounty.us/ – and the City of Yakima will issue updates on the results of the City Council races on its website, https://www.yakimawa.gov/
