“Outsmarting Scammers” Class coming to the Harman Center

A class on “Outsmarting Scammers” will be presented at 1:00 pm this Thursday, July 26th, at the City of Yakima’s Harman Center, 101 North 65th Avenue.

The class will be taught by the Edward Jones investment company.

“It will discuss how to spot red flags that may indicate a fraudulent encounter, resources that you can turn to in the event that you or someone else is targeted, and steps you can take now to help protect yourself and others,” said Recreation Program Supervisor Leslie Richards. “We are trying to put on more educational programs at the Center since our Lunch & Learns have had such a fantastic turnout so far this year.”

The “Outsmarting Scammers” class is free and no registration is required.

The Harman Center’s “Lunch & Learn” programs began last year and are held monthly. The next “Lunch & Learn” is 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm on Thursday, August 16th. The topic will be “Home & Bathroom Safety.” The presentation, which includes a light lunch, is free of charge.
