Volunteers, led by Kyle Rasmusson, will install a pollinator garden this Saturday morning at the City of Yakima’s West Valley Community Park.
The project was created by Yakima Rotaract, a sub-group of Rotary, with assistance by the City’s Parks and Recreation Department.
City staff prepared a 16-foot-by-16-foot area for the pollinator garden, located at the park’s 75th Avenue cul de sac. Plants will be placed at the site this Saturday morning, with plans to install educational signage in the future.
The garden involves installing native plants to attract butterflies, bees and other pollinators.
