Project to Require Traffic Impacts on Nob Hill Boulevard

Drivers can anticipate delays this summer on a 16-block section of Nob Hill Boulevard due to a resurfacing project.

Work began today, Monday, June 26th, to grind and overlay Nob Hill Boulevard from 13th Avenue to 29th Avenue. The project is expected to last until mid-October. Access to properties in the project area will be maintained as best as possible.

“Lane closures eastbound or westbound can be expected as of now,” said Acting Construction Supervisor Dana Kallevig. “However, starting in late July there will be temporary closures of Nob Hill Boulevard through the project area.”

Currently, lane closures eastbound or westbound are planned during project work hours of 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

The City of Yakima will provide updates on its web and social media platforms as specific times and dates for road closures become available.

The schedule for this type of project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.

Drivers are reminded the speed limit through all traffic-related work zones within the City of Yakima is 20 miles-per-hour.

During the project, traffic delays in the area are likely to occur. Drivers should use alternate routes until project completion.
