The Yakima City Council held a regular meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 2nd.
Actions during the Dec. 2nd regular meeting agenda included:
- Removing the following from the agenda:
– Ordinance imposing a one-tenth of one percent local sales and use tax to fund criminal justice purposes
– Ordinance imposing a Council-directed increase in Water and Wastewater tax rates to fund Council specific programs and amending YMC 7.64.020
– Ordinance imposing a Council-directed increase in the Stormwater tax rate to fund Council directed programs and amending YMC 7.64.040
– Ordinance imposing a Council-directed increase in Refuse tax rate to fund Council directed programs and amending YMC 7.64.030
- Keeping the Harman Center open in 2026
- Funding Washington Fruit Community Center through June 2026, including after-school programs
- Keeping Yakima Fire Department Station 92 open and seeking $1.8 million in YFD operational reductions without station closures
- Adopting the 2026 Mid-Biennial Budget
