A section of Yakima Avenue will be closed Saturday evening, July 2nd, for the Downtown Yakima Mile event.
Yakima Avenue will be closed between North 11th Avenue and South 3rd Street during the Downtown Yakima Mile, which is scheduled for 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm.
Flaggers will be on site to assist drivers. A total of 11 race heats are planned, and roads will open as needed in between heats.
Event organizers anticipate about 1,000 participants and approximately 500 spectators.
