Due to weather-related delays, the following traffic impacts at the intersection of Fair Avenue and Nob Hill Boulevard are extended through Friday, May 8th:
- Fair Avenue is completely closed at the intersection. A detour route is available via E. Mead Avenue and Pacific Avenue. Additionally, the detour route is via E Mead Ave and Pacific Ave.
- Nob Hill Boulevard is one lane each way through the intersection. The signal is turned off during the Fair Avenue closure, allowing Nob Hill traffic to go through the intersection unimpeded.
The above closures are in effect 24/7. They are required so crews can complete roadway surfacing for a Nob Hill/Fair Avenue project that began last year. The current surfacing project was originally scheduled for completion at the end of April.
Drivers are asked to consider alternate routes, if possible, during these closures as there are traffic delays. If driving through the project area, please proceed with caution.
As always, the schedule for this type of project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.
For more about the project call City of Yakima Chief Engineer Dana Kallevig at 509-575-6048.
