Both lanes on the south side of Fruitvale Boulevard in the vicinity of the River Road intersection and the intersection of North 34^th Avenue/River Road/Fruitvale Boulevard will be closed starting Thursday, Jan. 30^th, for work to install two new roundabouts. The project also includes installing utility improvements.

The south side of Fruitvale Boulevard at the intersection of River Road and North 34^th Avenue will be closed 24/7. The intersection itself will also be closed 24/7, with detours posted.

Closures are required for Phase 1 of the project. Phase 2 is expected to begin May 12^th, when crews will switch to the north lanes of Fruitvale Boulevard and re-open lanes on the south side of Fruitvale. The roundabouts are being funded through $3,087,102 in state and $1,240,898 in federal grants.

The project is expected to be completed by August 2025.
