Sewer Pipe Leak Leads to Temporary Closure of a Section of Pleasant

The section of Pleasant Avenue between Washington Avenue and Spokane Street is temporarily closed to through traffic due to roadway damage caused by a sewer pipe leak.

The sewer pipe leak has caused soil below the roadway to erode.  As a result, asphalt pavement has collapsed.

Repairs to the leaking sewer pipe should begin within the next few days.  Once the pipe is fixed, the eroded soil will be replaced, the roadbed will be restored, and temporary pavement repairs will be made.  No estimate has been made at this point regarding when all of the necessary repairs may be completed.

During the temporary closure of Pleasant Avenue between Washington Avenue and Spokane Street, traffic delays in the area are likely to occur.  Drivers should use alternate routes until the project is completed.

Access to homes in the area will be maintained as best as possible.
