The City of Yakima has begun a series of traffic signal head upgrades at intersections over the next several weeks. The intersections listed below will be reduced to a single lane of traffic in each direction, with stop signs posted in all directions.

• July 9^th             3^rd Ave & Mead (complete)
• July 16^th           3^rd Ave & Walnut
• July 23^rd          5^th Ave & Walnut
• July 30^th           5^th Ave & Yakima
• Aug. 6^th            8^th St & Yakima
• Aug. 13^th          16^th Ave & Cherry
• Aug. 20^th          44^th Ave & Tieton
• Aug. 27^th          1^st St & Arlington
• Aug. 28^th          1^st St & Arlington

Traffic impacts for the signal upgrades are scheduled to begin at 6:30 am and by complete by 12:00 pm. Signals at the intersections will be dark during project work hours. Drivers should treat the intersections as four-way stops while work is in progress.

Drivers are encouraged to slow down in all traffic-related work zones.

As always, the schedule for this type of project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.
