Stormwater Construction Project to Impact Traffic on Powerhouse

A stormwater construction project will impact traffic on a section of Powerhouse Road on Friday, January 31st.

The section of Powerhouse between 24th Avenue and 26th Avenue will close from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm on January 31st to accommodate the project.

The project involves preliminary camera work by the Michels Corporation to prepare for installation of a new liner in the stormwater pipes next month. The liner will prevent roots from clogging the pipes.

Drivers are reminded that the speed limit through all traffic-related work zones within the City of Yakima is 20 miles-per-hour.

During the project, traffic delays in the area are likely to occur. Drivers should use alternate routes until project completion.

Access to homes and businesses in the project area will be maintained as best as possible.

The schedule for this type of project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.
