Several intersections in the City of Yakima will be temporarily closed at various times over the course of three days, Tuesday, March 4th, through Thursday, March 6th.
Signals at the following intersections will be red in all directions, requiring all drivers to stop, for a period of about three minutes so Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) crews can locate and document monument markers.
- 16th and Hathaway
- 16th and Cherry
- 16th and Summitview
- 16th and Tieton
- 16th and Bonnie Doone
- 16th and Nob Hill
- 16th and Washington
- Pacific and Fair Ave
- 3rd and Nob Hill
- 3rd and Mead
- 10th and Washington
- 3rd and Washington
City of Yakima signal crews will have the intersections in ALL RED STOP for up to 3 minutes at a time as WSDOT crews locate markers and progress from intersection to intersection.
Work hours will be from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm all three days.
“WSDOT crews plan to avoid the busier intersections during peak traffic times,” said City of Yakima Traffic Operations Supervisor Dan Nickoloff. “We appreciate the public’s patience during this project.”
As always, the schedule for this type of project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.
